2009 World Savers Award

World Savers Award

A big day for World Tourism and G Adventures!

Our Founder and CEO, Bruce Poon Tip, was at the Conde Nast Traveler World Savers Congress in New York City on September 21, 2009 accepting a World Savers Award for Best Tour Operator.

We are thrilled to be included in such a prestigious list and are pleased that the judges on the panel recognizes G Adventures commitment to service and excellence. This honor is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and integrity of each employee here at G Adventures.”
— Bruce Poon Tip, CEO G Adventures

This is a celebratory day for the tourism industry as we recognize the travel industry leaders who are making a difference in the areas of poverty alleviation, health, education, wildlife conservation, and environmental or cultural preservation – not to mention those who do it all!

G Adventures was chosen by a panel of twenty-one judges, including academics, CEO's and philanthropists. Luminaries such as Laurie David, environmental activist and co-producer of An Inconvenient Truth, and Marcia Gay Harden, environmental activist and Oscar-winning actress, are among the experienced professionals who ranked the travel companies.

At the Congress in New York City, Bruce was a panelist among leaders in the travel industry and non-profit sector with the intent to facilitate and encourage discussions about the move towards sustainable and profitable business.

Special guests included Ken Burns, Wyclef Jean, Timberland president and CEO Jeffrey Swartz, and Mandy Moore.
