In 2011 I had the pleasure of visiting Bulgaria on my very first G Adventure trip. We managed to visit this under-appreciated country while going from Budapest to Istanbul. Bulgaria was surprising at many different levels, including the food, the people, and the depth of history. It is also one of the most affordable countries to visit in all of Europe. If you go, make sure to try the shopska salad. It quickly became one my favourite dishes.

Broken windmill inside Belogradchik Fortress.
The rocks of Belogradchik.
The ancient UNESCO World Heritage Site, Boyana Church in Sofia.
In March 2007 I sold my house and have been traveling around the world ever since. Since I started traveling, I have probably done and seen more than I have in the rest of my life combined.
So far I have visited all 7 continents, over 100 countries, 49/50 US states, 9/10 Canadian provinces, every Australian state and territory, over 100 US National Park Service sites and over 150 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Thank you for bringing me back to my memories.Bulgaria is a magic place…undiscovered
Tsveti is saying true, Bulgaria is a magical place and also one of the cheapest European holiday destinations. Bulgaria is bordered by five countries. There are so many reasons to visit Bulgaria, black sea beaches are there to enjoy, ski resorts are there where we can do skiing in winter and I think most people don’t know that Bulgaria was the home of Orpheus. Varna’s Archaelogical Museum is one of the best places to see in Varna ( Bulgaria). food and drink is amazing there, don’t forget to try dishes such as yogurt and patatnik .
Travel companies like varnaairportcarrentals.com or bulgariacarsrental.com can help you to book a car in advance at all bulgarian airports.
But be sure Car rental company should be reliable andtrusted.
My next trip….
