In 2011 I had the pleasure of visiting Bulgaria on my very first G Adventure trip. We managed to visit this under-appreciated country while going from Budapest to Istanbul. Bulgaria was surprising at many different levels, including the food, the people, and the depth of history. It is also one of the most affordable countries to visit in all of Europe. If you go, make sure to try the shopska salad. It quickly became one my favourite dishes.

Varna’s Archaelogical Museum is one of the best places to see in Varna ( Bulgaria). food and drink is amazing there, don’t forget to try dishes such as yogurt and patatnik .
