Visual Adventure: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Gary Arndt January 17, 2013 2

My visit to Dubrovnik was brief, but very pleasant. I was on a cruise around Italy in 2010 and our first port of call after we set out from Venice was Dubrovnik, Croatia. I knew very little about Dubrovnik before I arrived other than it was a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. The old city of Dubrovnik can easily be explored in a day. Even though it was raining, I managed to walk the entire length of the city walls and explore most of the main roads and side streets of the city.  Visiting Dubrovnik has piqued my interest enough that I plan on returning to Croatia sometime in the future.

The city of Dubrovnik.

Old church bells in the city.

Side streets of Dubrovnik.

Arches on a church in Dubrovnik.

Forts Bokar and Lovrijenac.

Dubrovnik is beautiful, but if life ever brings you back, you need to visit rest of Croatia…You will not regret…

I was just in Dubrovnik last year, really gorgeous old town! You’re lucky it was raining = less crowded! :)
