Product and Contracting Manager, Asia

G Adventures, the world's leading small group adventure tour operator is seeking a Product and Contracting Manager based in Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the current product line, and for developing new and innovative small group and independent adventure tours, sourcing of new and reviewing of existing supplier relationships focused on cost reduction/management and service quality, with the goal of ensuring the company maintains its competitive advantage. By fully understanding customer and company needs, the Product and Contracting Manager is able to maximize profitability without sacrificing quality and provide a commercially viable range of products at competitive prices.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and delivery of innovative, competitive and profitable products for G Adventures and third party sales partners
- Manage the product line of existing product in the region through ongoing review and optimization to ensure innovative delivery of services and a high level of customer satisfaction
- Act as the purchasing/contracting manager for the region with the aim of achieving a continually reducing level of costs of goods
- Strengthen and improve contractual relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products
- Maintain clear and concise service supplier contracts
- Ensure updated costs for coming year are received, negotiated and contracted by target deadlines for brochure
- Seek out product efficiencies that reduce costs and provide quality client experience
- Work with the operations team to ensure a high level of accuracy throughout all tour budgets and content ensuring that product-related materials are maintained accurately for local office staff and our tour leaders (CEO’s)
- Analyze market trends and competitor product offerings to ensure G Adventures is effectively positioned in the market and developing innovative and authentic tours
- Offer support and quality control of all product collateral and content, including brochures, trip details and website
- Develop opportunities for pre purchased and locally sold ancillary revenue generating product
- Act as the subject matter expert on the region by contributing to the development and maintenance of product training materials, to ensure a high level of product knowledge throughout the organization
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in the travel industry and extensive travel in Asia
- 1+ year buyer/negotiating experience
- 1+ year in leadership role within operational environment related to travel industry
- Experience developing or managing travel products in the region
