Sierra Leone

From a dark past, a bright future

Synonymous with civil war a decade ago, Sierra Leone has since transformed itself into a beacon of stability and growth. Still largely an unknown quantity to most travellers, this small West African nation has opened itself up to the world and rewards curious adventurers with great beaches, incredible national parks, and the wondrous nightlife of Freetown. Reconstruction is ongoing, which lends Sierra Leone a work-in-progress vibe, but while it may be a little rough around the edges, you can't help but be inspired by the citizenry's commitment to building a great nation.
