G Adventures fundraiser tops $20,000 for its Planeterra Foundation

10 May 2006

May 10, 2006 - It was an evening filled with astounding entertainment as G Adventures, Canada’s largest adventure travel company, hosted Ignite the Night, a special fundraiser in support of its non profit foundation Planeterra. The event delighted a sold out crowd of more than 400 guests and also raised $20,000.
Ignite the night

Ignite the Night featured Zero Gravity Circus who dazzled the crowd with high-flying trapeze artists, stilt walkers, contortionists and acrobats. A silent auction had guests lining up to bid on a variety of items including G Adventures trips to Peru and Costa Rica, professional chef services, a membership from Diesel Fitness, and a digital camera from Fuji Film. Ticket holders also had the chance to win a G Adventures sailing trip in the Galapagos Islands and a special gift basket from Tilley Edurables.

“We’re thrilled with the success of this year's kick off event, Ignite the Night”, said Bruce Poon Tip, CEO, G Adventures. “Thank you to everyone who joined us for this spectacular evening. All funds raised from Ignite the Night will go towards purchasing land and building a permanent home for a drop in centre for street children that we support in Cuzco, Peru.”
