12 Apr 2007

May 2, 2007 - In recognition of Earth Day, G Adventures recently held a voluntary one hour world-wide clean-up and related environmental activities at its head office, concept stores and on adventure tours in Belize, the Amazon, China, Costa Rica and around the world.

G Adventures head office employees in Toronto and employees at the Melbourne concept store cleaned up the neighbourhood, Barbados employees conducted a beach clean up while staff at concept stores in Vancouver and Toronto handed out prepackaged seedlings to the public.

From April 20-27, G Adventures also offset the carbon emissions that result from all international flights for passengers who purchased international airfare through us. Since January 2007, G Adventures has partnered with Sustainable Travel International (STI) and MyClimate to offer a carbon emission offset program. G Adventures is one of the first companies to use STI's custom carbon calculator. Travellers can determine the CO2 emitted from their flight and offset it with a voluntary contribution to an energy efficient community projects, such as a solar energy project in Costa Rica and a wind energy plant in Madagascar.
