May 23, 2008 - We were thrilled to learn that our Amazon Explorer trip was recently selected for inclusion in a new adventure travel book published by National Geographic books, ‘Riding the Hulahula to the Arctic Ocean: A Guide to 50 Extraordinary Adventures for the Seasoned Traveler’..
Co-authors Don Mankin and Shannon Stowell provide in-depth narratives and feature trips selected from a survey conducted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association as top choices for people over 40. The book will be available in bookstores and online this month.
G Adventures’ Amazon Explorer is a comfort class style adventure which takes place aboard our 19th century-style riverboat. There are daily excursions where travellers have the opportunity to spot incredible wildlife such as sloths, toucans and pink dolphins. They also get the rare opportunity to see how life on the river is lived and meet the locals, including a Jibaro-Ashual Shaman who will explain his traditional use of medicinal plants.
