For the third consecutive year, G Adventures (www.gadventures.com) has been named Canada's top adventure operator in a prestigious coast-to-coast survey of travel agents.
The annual Agents' Choice Awards 2010--which calls on travel agents from across Canada to rank the industry's top suppliers--acknowledges leading travel firms in 24 categories ranging from top airline to best insurance provider. G Adventures was the overwhelming winner in the top adventure operator category with 2,972 votes, followed by Goway Travel with 1,150 and Contiki Tours with 1,034.
"To receive this accolade from travel agents across Canada and in such a decisive fashion is a true honour," said G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip. "This third straight year of recognition as Canada's top adventure tour operator is a testament not only to our devotion to leading with service and building strong relationships with our industry partners, but also our commitment to changing people's lives by providing the very best in sustainable, authentic adventure experiences."
G Adventures' dedication to sustainable travel and commitment to giving back to the people and places visited on its tours also received high marks. The tour operator placed second only to Sandals Resorts in the top 'Environmentally-Friendly Company' category.
"It doesn't matter what you need, you can be sure G Adventures (Adventures) has it," Marlin Travel's Carol Farren told Canadian Travel Press when asked why she voted for G Adventures as Canada's top adventure operator. "They have product everywhere and so many different options to suit my clients' needs."
The Agents' Choice Awards 2010 survey is hosted by Canadian Travel Press, Travel Courier and TravelPress.com. Last year, more than 3,200 agents cast votes in the survey, making it the country's largest travel-industry awards program. Voters, who must be certified travel agents, are permitted to cast one vote in each category.
