Rewarding Partnerships
Over the years G Adventures has formed rewarding relationships with many international non-profit organizations and likeminded compa nies that focus on social and environmental sustainability. Here are some of the organizations that G Adventures and Planeterra work with around the world.
Trees for the future
TFTF is an agro-forestry resource centre helping people in developing countries improve their rural livelihoods through the introduction of environmentally sustainable land management projects focused on beneficial tree planting. Since 1988, Trees for the Future has planted nearly 50 million trees in Central America, Africa, and Asia, and we're working with them on our Planet Positive Project.
The International Ecotourism Society
The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) is an international network and award-winning ecotourism and training resource that provides assistance in developing tourism opportunities that benefit local economies, cultures and wild areas.
Plan Canada
Plan Canada is a non-profit organization that strives to improve the quality of life of children by improving their healthcare, education, livelihoods and environment. In addition to supporting Plan's work through Planeterra, G Adventures also supports three foster children in Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala.
Sustainable Travel Internatinal
Sustainable Travel International (STI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and outreach services that will lessen the toll that travel and tourism takes on the environment and local cultures. In partnership with STI, we provide our travellers with an opportunity to offset their flights and G Adventures tour.
Clean Air Commute
Each year, an organization called Pollution Probe hosts the Clean Air Commute, a week-long event to promote awareness of Toronto's air quality. Since our involvement we have kept 4,353,462 kg of pollutants out of the air.
Bullfrog Power
Bullfrog Power is the first 100% green electricity retailer in Ontario. Bullfrog purchases power exclusively from wind and low-impact hydro generators who meet or exceed the federal government's Environmental Choice Program EcoLogo standard for renewable electricity.
Green Shift
At our Head Office in Toronto, we use 100% recycled copy paper, paper towel and toilet paper. Our garbage and recycling bags have a minimum of 15% post consumer recycled content. We also use all natural hand and dish soap. All of these products are purchased from GreenShift, a Toronto based company.
Ecopaper
Ecopaper is 100% hand made recycled paper and is decorated with dried flowers. This project was created as an ethical employment alternative for families living in Ecuador in response to the devastation caused by El Niño. By purchasing stationary, document folders and thank you cards, G Adventures continues to provide work for the women and families of Ecopaper.
