While on adventure travel in Thailand, explorers may want to immerse themselves in the culture. With the smell of rich Thai spices filling the air, it can make any traveler hungry.

Chiang Mai is a must-see part of Thailand, known for its excess of temples, closing in at about 300 structures. One thing travelers may not be aware of is the area boasts a ton of cooking classes for visitors.

Many of the cooking classes feature fresh, local spices and produce, so pupils can really get a sense of the area's flavor. Travelers shouldn't think they're going to use sauces from a bottle, instructors actually teach participants how to make their own curry paste. This way, they are really getting the freshest ingredients and know exactly what's going into the dish.

Additionally, some of the classes include touring Chiang Mai's markets, which can really add to the overall culinary experience. Even for travelers who aren't taking a cooking class, these markets are a must-see, as they feature a plethora of different kinds of food and are relatively inexpensive.
