Thailand's bounty is difficult to encapsulate: The country's variety is one of its finest assets. One of the seaside nation's most beautiful accolades is its waterfalls, and there are few places better than Erawan National Park to see them.
The park is most famous for its epic seven-tiered waterfall, which features a cacophony of gentle cascading streams that look like they are straight out of a movie. The park gets its name, Erawan, from the uppermost of these falls, which resembles the three-headed elephant, called Erawan, of the Hindu religion.
One of the best parts of these waterfalls are their calm pools, which offer the perfect spot for a swim. Visitors are encouraged to bring swimsuits to the park, as the crystal blue waters are like a dream to glide through.
To see the sights, visitors must be prepared to hike. Trails here can be wet and steep, so travelers should be prepared with the appropriate footwear, as a pair of flip-flops is likely to be quite cumbersome on the trails.
