Thai abundance at Khao Sok National Park

A land of limestone karst formations, lowland forests and more wildlife than any one visit could capture, Khao Sok National Park is a true gem of Thailand.
The park's bounty lies largely in its diverse wildlife population, which features a number of inhabitants active both at night and during the day. Large mammalian species include the barking deer, cloud leopards and macaques.
Both the bird and plant populations add a level of color to the park that is rarely seen elsewhere. Ranging in hue from a majestic blue to a regal green, the feathers of the Malayan peacock pheasant create a fan of natural elegance, while orchid blooms add bursts of color along the trail and beyond. The park is also home to the epic red-orange rafflesia kerrii meijer, a parasitic flower that attracts insects with its strong aromas.
Most treks through Khao Sok take more than a day, so travelers are encouraged to pack for their trip accordingly. While longer treks can be challenging, the diverse scenery that hikers will encounter offers a good distraction and purpose for any tired muscles.
