Vietnam is home to some of the best spots in the world for adventure travel, and Ha Long Bay is among them. Located on the country's northern coast, the bay is certainly not lacking in natural beauty and there are a wide variety of breathtaking features that truly make it one of a kind.
Ha Long Bay is perhaps best known for its thousands of limestone karsts and islands spread throughout the water. Any visitors should make sure to stop by Cat Ba Island, the largest formation in the bay. The island is home to a beautiful national park as well as the heavily endangered Cat Ba Langur, which is considered to be one of the rarest primates in the world.
While the Langur is a highlight, Cat Ba Island has more to offer than diverse wildlife. For instance, the island is replete with numerous natural caves that even the most experienced spelunker can appreciate. There are also a number of beaches on the southwest side of the island for travelers looking for a more relaxing experience.
Cat Ba Island may be the most well-known feature of Ha Long Bay, but it is not the only spot worth checking out. With more than 1,600 inlets and islands strewn throughout the water, visiting Ha Long will never leave travelers without something to do.
