Wildlife and adventure await travelers exploring Cambodia

Located in the southern part of Cambodia, Bokor National Park is a gorgeous jungle overrun with massive ferns and other flora found in a tropical rainforest.
Travelers who want to go on a trip through unique regions of southeast Asia should find Bokor to their liking. Thanks to the site's varied biodiversity, visitors can see tigers, leopards, black bears, several monkey species and even free roaming Asian elephants if vacationers are lucky enough.
In addition to the exciting wildlife, ruins of an old palace, a church and a former hotel & casino add a grand sense of antiquity to this rural spot. Many people fled here during the senseless crimes committed by Khmer Rouge regime, but have returned to the cities in recent years.
After exploring the park, travelers can visit Kep, a coastal town which is very easy to camp in. A New York Times reporter found pitching a tent easy and soon, "we poured ourselves generous glasses of rum with lime juice and soda to help make the warm and humid evening more bearable. Mosquitoes and flies buzzed around our electric lanterns."
This is "Thailand 10 years ago," says the travel reporter. Shopping malls, luxury resorts and skyscrapers are nowhere to be found in this quiet corner of the region.
The best way to explore Cambodia's countryside is with a small group of adventure travelers.
