Easter Island, also known locally as Rapa Nui, is a fantastic oasis off the coast of Chile. It is also the number two spot on National Geographic Magazine's list of The Top Ten Places to Visit Before You Die.
Individuals who wish to plan an adventure travel vacation may want to consider this beautiful island as a destination. It is located more than 2,200 miles from South America, which renders it remote and relatively untouched by tourism. There are many fun things to see and do at this spot, though the most amazing may be observing the gigantic stone monoliths that dot the coastline. There are more than 900 of these incredible monuments on the island, and yet no one knows how they came to be there. Examining these rocks and pondering where they came from may be an enjoyable activity for inquisitive travelers.
Other things that travelers may want to do on Easter Island include visit Rano Raraku, a collapsed volcano, where travelers can swim in the beautiful, clear waters off the coast.
It is best to plan a fun trip such as this one with a small group of adventure travelers.
Travelers must visit Easter Island at some point in their lifetimes
