Ski the second tallest mountain in the world

K2, a mountain in the Karakoram Range, has the second highest summit (next to Mt. Everest) in all of the world. It also holds the title of being the ultimate thrill for ski mountaineers, who attempt to climb up and race down the nearly 30,000-foot peak each year.
Individuals who enjoy skiing and are looking for the next big thing may want to book a trip to China or Pakistan, where the Karakoran Range is located. No one has ever actually made it to the summit of K2, which may make it an even more enticing adventure travel destination. It is important to keep in mind, however, that attempting this challenge is not without its risks. The last individual who attempted to climb to the peak was Swedish mountaineer Fredrik Ericcson, and he unfortunately died in the process.
Many have made it close to the top, though, including Dave Watson, an American high-altitude ski guide. He climbed within 250 meters of the summit. Currently this is the closest anyone has ascended and lived to tell the tale.
Attempting an exciting challenge such as skiing K2 is best done with a small group of experienced adventure travelers.
