Berlin, Germany, has long been an urban adventure traveler's paradise, with plenty of history and things to explore. Now, on your next adventure travel trip to Germany, make sure to check out the Buchstaben Museum that has recently opened.
According to the New York Times, the Buchstaben Museum, or the Museum of Letters, is located in a huge DDR-era shopping mall in Alexanderplatz. However, its location truly brings out the collection that is on display.
Barbara Dechant, the founder of the museum, wants to use the letters in order to preserve local character in (and?) history, which seems to be fading into the background of gentrification and commercialism, according to the news source.
"Older letters are constructed in a laborious and detailed manner with sturdy materials," she told the news source. "Later, letter shapes are made out of plastics and acrylics. The quality of design, typography and manufacture don’t necessarily benefit from the fact that modern technology has made them easier for everyone to do."
The best way to explore Germany is with a small group of adventure travelers.
Make sure to visit the Buchstaben Museum while in Berlin
