It's something right out of an adventure travelers dreams - to own a boat and travel the world with it.
That's exactly what Mike and Judy Ryan and their three daughters just completed, according to CNN.
The Ryan's decided that they had waited too long to fulfil their dream of sailing the world, and took off in 2007. Mike had just finished the huge project of launching the Ritz Carlton hotel on Grand Cayman, and Judy was working on moving the family to London when they started planning their around the world trip.
After nine months, they found their perfect boat - a 40-meter sailing yacht they named "Tenaz," according to the news source.
With two tutors on board, the three kids were home schooled during the nine month adventure.
The trip started off of Capri, in the Mediterranean Sea. On a blog that Judy kept, she remarked that they woke up to "the beautiful island of Capri... we all threw ourselves into the azure blue sea."
The family made stops everywhere, including Turkey, Egypt, Djibouti, and Maldives before ending up in Brisbane, Australia.
"The experience has been above and beyond what we could have imagined," wrote Judy in her blog. "The year will certainly stand as a watershed and I can already hear the conversations marked by 'Oh that was before Tenaz' or 'Just like when we were on Tenaz."
