MassKara festival offers taste of the Philippines

Families looking to take an adventurous trip to the Far East won't have to look hard for something to do if they choose to visit the Philippines. Manila, the capital, and other nearby cities offer countless family travel activities throughout the year. For travelers looking for a good time this fall, the MassKara festival in Bacolod may be worth checking out, according to ABS-CBN.
Later this month, festivities celebrating the establishment of the city will be in full swing. The parade and festival, which were originally created in 1981, are full of colorful masks and dancing. Each year, it draws attention around the world from photographers and reporters alike, looking to document the inspiring event.
"MassKara becomes a festival of a thousand smiles per minute, projecting the Bacoleno's ability to smile, to be gregarious and charming and to shoe his instinct to survive and triumph over trials and challenges," Bacolod tourism officer Imogene Kana-an told the news source.
Bacolod also has a number of historical mansions and colonial churches worth seeing. While exploring the area, visitors are encouraged to travel with a small group to make the most of their trip.
