Rejuvenating adventures in the Dead Sea

Those who tire of hiking throughout some of the world's lowest spots can find rejuvenation in the waters of the Dead Sea in Jordan.
Named for its lack of life due to its extreme salinity, travelers from around the world have flocked to the Dead Sea for its healthful features. Those with lung problems, skin issues and rheumatic problems have all found relief from a swim within the nutrient-rich waters. However, even those without specific health issues often find a float along the giant lake extremely invigorating.
The grey mud of the Dead Sea's bottom also is said to have great benefits, such as providing a cost-effective skin therapy well worth the travel. With the region offering warm temperatures year-round, the Jordanian sun only complements the Dead Sea's medicinal offerings.
Surrounded by mountains to the east and the rolling hills of Jersualem to the west, guests will find no shortage of alluring hikes in the world's lowest point. Said to be the home to five Biblical cities, travelers will find the area sparsely populated today, offering vast expanses of tranquil landscapes to explore.
