Climb the Alps in Europe on a 10-day trek

In Europe, the Alps rise high into sky as a majestic royal monarch stands towering over its subjects. Like these monarchs of the olden days, the mountain range captivates and terrifies the people who see it up close.
One of the best ways to experience this awe-inducing range is with the Tour du Mont Blanc, a hiking trail that takes approximately 10 days to complete.
It circles around the border of Italy, France and Switzerland taking people on the trek past soaring peaks, massive glaciers, serene alpine fields and rocky terrain.
The trip starts in Chamonix, France, then heads south in a counter-clockwise rotation passing through Les Chapieux, then into Italy past Courmayeur and Val Ferret. In Switzerland, hikers will hike around Champex one day and Trient the next.
"No part of France has more dramatic scenery than the Alps; the western ramparts of the mountains and their foothills are truly majestic," raves Frommer's travel guides.
Participants in the trek will get to sample mountain cuisine, see Mont Blanc up close and sleep in basic accommodations, giving groups the chance to bond over their travels.
The best way to trek through the Alps is with a small group of adventure travelers.
