Modern technology and ancient relics coexist in Mexico City

Inside the bowl-like landscape of Mexico City lies Teotihuacan. The ancient capital of the Aztecs, the ruins can be found at the center of the country's modern capital. Unlike many relics, the area of Teotihuacan has been continually inhabited for more than 2,000 years.
Mexico City has preserved the cultural relics from Teotihuacan in interesting ways. One of the more unique offerings for travelers is a subway ride that takes visitors through one of the ancient temples and combines ancient relics with modern technology in a very intriguing fashion.
Thought to be one of the largest cities in the world during its heyday, the city's ruins stretch more than 30 miles from the current boundaries of Mexico City. One of the most revered relics of the Aztecs is the Pyramid of the Sun. Standing at 215 feet, the geometric designs of this gigantic structure exude the culture's advanced construction knowledge. The subterranean caves beneath the pyramid offer a cool retreat from Mexico's often hot temperatures and are a fun place to explore for a few hours.
