Cross-country ski along the plains of Norway

While some people find cross-country skiing to be a boring idea, traipsing through the Norwegian wilderness is anything but dull.
The high-altitude plateaus of Norway are great places to glide along the snow with nothing but two skis strapped to your feet and a backpack filled with the essentials.
"Not only can you ski to the edge of spectacular gorges and command magnificent views over jagged mountain ranges... but because you are on a plateau you can do so as a complete beginner," states Colin Nicholson, a travel reporter for the UK Telegraph.
Here, the snow lasts until May and the routes are easy enough to navigate without a guide, making it the perfect adventure for travelers who want to explore the area with friends at their own pace.
During the day, skiers will challenge themselves as they trek up small hills and keep up control when dipping down gentle slopes.
Twilight might be the best time to cross-country ski; as Nicholson writes of his time during the evening, "I felt I was being transported in a dream through an enchanted landscape."
The best way to complete a cross-country skiing vacation in Norway is with a small group of adventure travelers.
