Family
Just because you’ve settled down and had kids doesn’t mean you have to stop having adventures. Wanderlust is genetic, so bring the kids along for the ride! We’ve scoured the globe in search of exciting experiences that fit the needs of travellers big and not-so-big alike. And unlike most things, travel is something you never grow out of; whether your kids are little or almost grown, we’ve got an adventure that’ll fit them (and you!) perfectly.
WHAT'S A FAMILY TRIP LIKE?
More included stuff
We handpick activities that maximize the fun for travellers of all ages. Some engage the brain, others the body, and still others both! Even when you’re on the move, we’ll keep everyone occupied with language lessons, cultural learning opportunities and local games. Many trips employ a second CEO who’ll keep the kids busy while you enjoy some time that’s just for adults.
Immersive edu-tainment
Kids learn best when they don’t know they’re learning at all. Our trips take the stodginess out of educational travel by introducing your kids to history, language and nature directly, often in destinations they might be studying at school. Want to know more about a particular cultural tradition or historical artifact? Go with us and you’ll get an answer straight from the source.
Expect the unexpected
Those unscripted moments that make travel so rewarding can be hard to come by on most tightly-scheduled family trips. Not ours. Our CEOs are always on the lookout for unique, unplanned experiences that’ll enrich your adventure. A game of futbol with some Brazilian kids or learn the way of the ninja in Japan? Anything—and everything—is possible!
Safety first, last and always
Your family’s safety is our top concern. We adhere to strict safety standards everywhere we go, even in places where the standards aren’t quite as high. That’s why we employ private vehicles for the majority of our ground travel and subject our rides to frequent safety inspections. Our hotels and suppliers are thoroughly vetted to ensure quality safety and service, and we insist on comprehensive safety briefings for all activities that require them.
Age-appropriate activities
It’s tough to find something for everyone to do, especially when they’re not the same age. We tailor our activities towards kids of certain age groups to help parents decide which trip is right for them. Each activity carries a minimum age requirement set by our local suppliers so that all activities can be enjoyed safely. For an idea if a trip is right for your kids, check the minimum age note on each itinerary.
Skilled CEOs
Every G Adventures trip has its own CEO, and family trips are no exception. (Although in some cases, we have two!) Our CEOs and local guides are the very best at what they do, and are there to help bring out the very best of your destination and interpret it in a way that everyone, regardless of age, will appreciate. Our CEOs are pretty amazing people with diverse backgrounds and educations. Want a good story? Just ask them!
An extra set of hands
As every parent knows, you just can’t be everywhere at once. Fortunately, we can! Some of our families trips include a second CEO who will take the kids off for a special young-folks-only activity while the grown-ups explore a museum, sample wine or just take it easy for a spell. A little relief goes a long way.
Unique accommodations
We try our best to select accommodations that reflect the unique character of the places we visit. Whether that means camping under the desert stars, bunking down in a traditional longhouse in Borneo, sleeping in teepees in Lapland or checking in to a traditional ryokan in Japan, where you sleep will always reflect where you are. We’ll also do our best to room you and your kids in adjoining rooms, and in some cases book triple and quad rooms to keep you all together.
Delectable edibles
Often, the most direct way to experience a new place is through its food. We’ll introduce you to local cuisine all over the place, often by having you sit down to traditional meals with the locals themselves. That could mean sharing a meal with a family, exploring new tastes at the market or learning to cook your own delicacies in a cooking class. Who wants seconds?
