Day 1 Caracas
Arrive at any time.
Days 2-4 Choroní
Travel by bus to Choroní, within the boundaries of Henri Pittier National Park. Optional hiking, birdwatching, swimming or visit the cacao plantations of the village of Chuao.
Days 5-6 Chichiriviche
Bus ride to Chichiriviche, near Morrocoy National Park. Optional boat rides to visit the nearby islands and beaches as well as swimming, snorkelling and birdwatching opportunities.
Day 7-9 Coro
Bus trip to the colonial city of Coro. Free time to explore the city or take an optional excursion to the Peninsula de Paraguana, the mountains and waterfalls of San Luis, or the sand dunes of the Medanos de Coro National Park.
Days 10-13 Santa Marta/Taganga- Tayrona National Park (B,L,D)
Cross into Colombia and continue by bus to Santa Marta. Use the town of Taganga as a base for exploration of nearby beaches, villages and Tayrona National Park. Optional hikes to waterfalls and beaches, and spend a night in a hammock within the park.
Day 14-16 Cartagena
Travel by bus to Cartagena. Free time for an optional city tour or a nighttime "chiva" tour within the city, or take an excursion to the beaches of Islas del Rosario National Park or soak in the crater of the Totumo mud volcano.
Day 17 Quito
Fly to Quito. Free afternoon for exploring the city or an optional city tour or a cable car ride up the nearby volcano for a view of the city.
Day 18 Otavalo
Travel by bus to Otavalo and explore the famous handicraft market.
Day 19-20 Cotacachi
Bus trip to nearby Cotacachi. Explore the area and experience rural life in the Andes.
Day 21 Papallacta
Continue by bus to Papallacta. Soak in the hot springs and enjoy the mountain scenery.
Day 22 Quito
Return to Quito by bus.
Day 23 Quito
Depart at any time.
