Hang out in a hammock or hit the trail running, all G Adventures tours feature a mix of experiences geared towards popular interests. Our trips always include the must-sees and must-dos, and often appeal to nature enthusiasts, water sport fans and cultural buffs alike. If you’re looking for something more specific like sailing or cycling, then choose your preferred activity icon to see what tours come up.
Chill Out
Busy, busy, busy ... why is everyone always trying to make you DO something? Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all, and some places seem perfectly designed for ... well, nothing. Try “being” rather than “being busy”, and you might even discover another side of where or even who you are. So hang your hammock, grab a pina colada and kick back.
Culture/History
For history hounds and culture vultures there's never a shortage of locations to indulge your curiosity and immerse yourself in the traditions of days gone by. Vibrant living cultures infused with the olden times offer a window into the past, and hold a mirror up to our own world.
Cycling
Fast enough to cover serious ground but slow enough to smell the roses, cycling might just be the perfect way to travel. It's cheap, pollution-free, and brings you closer to the locals. Whether cruising between wineries with a picnic basket or grinding over mountain passes, don't watch the landscape from a window, be part of it.
Expedition Cruising
Cruising can have a bad rap among the adventure travel set. But cruises don't have to be all shuffleboard and late-night buffets. Some of the world's most pristine, remote places can only be reached from the water, and with G Adventures Expeditions, the most important element is the destination. Hop on board an expedition-style ship and change your image of cruising forever.
Family
The demand for Family Adventure Vacations has grown over the years, as our clients grow older and look to share their adventures with their children. A Family adventure vacation with G Adventures offers families the option to experience something more interesting and exciting than your normal beach holiday. From a riverboat cruise down the Amazon to the legendary pyramids of Egypt – create a family memory that will last a lifetime.
Festivals
Every culture celebrates, and everyone loves a good party. There’s no better way to sense the soul of a place and get insight into its people than through their festivals. Inhibitions are low, traditions are on parade and people show their true colours. Join in the fun, learn native dances, customs and music and connect on a local level.
Kayak/Canoe
Explore jungle-choked estuaries, navigate shallow man-made waterways or paddle from lake to lake and island to island - canoes and kayaks take you places nothing else can go. Human-powered and silent, a small boat lets you get up close and personal with nature. Come see the view from water level, at a speed you can take it all in at.
Photography
Are you a photo junkie? Then join the “snap pack” and travel to some of the most photogenic places on earth. Our photography trips put you on an itinerary specially geared towards getting the perfect pic, with a group of like-minded travellers. Learn new tricks, share your knowledge, and never worry about taking the time to get the shot. Bonus: someone always has an extra lens cap.
Rafting
Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or prefer a lazy float downstream, there’s no better way to watch the landscape scroll by than to sit back and let the river do the work. That is, of course, unless you're hanging on for dear life as you crash through the churning white foam of a class V rapid. To see the world's wildest rivers in a way no human should (but almost anybody can), you can't beat rafting. Just hang on to your paddle.
Trekking/Hiking
As long as there have been mountains, people have felt compelled to climb them. Even if you aren't interested in crampons and first ascents, there's something particularly satisfying about hiking through the wild outdoors completely under your own leg power. So strap on some boots, get sweaty, and earn that view!
Volunteer
Taking in the sights, taking pictures, taking a bus, taking your time ... no wonder they call it taking a vacation. Instead of always taking something away when you travel, why not give something back? There's no better cultural immersion than to earn respect by working side by side with locals. The options are endless; pick one you're passionate about and leave the land, animals or people better off than before you arrived. The bonus is you may find you take away more from your travel than ever before.
Wildlife/Nature
It's often said we don't truly appreciate something until we lose it. As the fragility of our natural world becomes more evident, we find ourselves increasingly drawn to places where we can reconnect with the earth, no longer just spectators, but a part of the planet. With little control over the experience, contact with untamed wildlife is a gift, a blessing, and a humbling reminder of how removed from nature our lives have become.
Yacht-based Adventures
Few modes of travel feel freer than sailing. Glide wherever the wind takes you, where the only sounds are waves on the hull and ice in your drink. At the end of the day, moor in sheltered coves unreachable by any other means, or pull up to a dock in the middle of party central. Self-contained and independent, a sailboat frees you from the worries of both transport and accommodation, so you can choose to stay and explore, or move on with the next tide.
