Fly to Puerto Maldonado and continue by fast motorized canoe to the comfortable G Lodge Amazon, which boasts sustainable operational initiatives like solar panels, a recycling program and rechargeable flashlights. Guided excursions by expert naturalists to spot wildlife and learn more about the jungle.
Fly to Cuzco. Orientation walk of the city and introductory Spanish lesson, optional visits to museums and leisure time for personal exploration.
Two full days with an expert local guide exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We visit the Ccaccaccollo community and the Planeterra-sponsored Women's Weaving Project and the Pisac market. Partake in on-site lectures at the Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Moray ruins. Learn about the pre-Incan salt pans of Las Salineras and enjoy a traditional Pachamanca-style dinner of local specialities.
Enjoy a scenic train ride through the Andes to Aguas Calientes. An on-site lecture by our expert local guide and 2-day entrance to Machu Picchu are included. Option for hiking around the archaeological site and leisure time for shopping. Return by train to Cuzco on Day 9.
Enjoy the city of the Incas at your leisure. Optional activities include: horseback riding, archaeological sites such as Sacsayhuaman, Tambo Machay and Puca Pucara, visits to churches and museums, whitewater rafting, rock climbing and shopping.
Scenic drive to Puno with a visit to the Sillustani Ruins and funeral towers and stop for a tour and demonstrations at a local farm. On Day 12 take a boat tour of Lake Titicaca and the Uros reed islands where the indigenous people teach us about their history and culture. We also enjoy a typical, local lunch and have free time for shopping for handicrafts.
Fly back to Lima and visit the historical centre of Lima and the Pueblo Libre neighbourhood. We stop at a local bodega to learn the history of Pisco and have a local mixologist demonstrate how to make a Pisco Sour. After, enjoy a tasting.
