Day 1 Lima

Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.

Day 2 Iquitos & Amazon Riverboat (1B,1L,1D)

Fly to Iquitos. Included city tour, visit to a manatee rescue centre and transfer to the boat. Cast off on the Amazon River.

Day 3 - 7 Exploration of the Amazon, Marañon and Ucayali Rivers (5B,5L,5D)

Spend the first day sailing to the confluence of the Marañon and Ucayali rivers, considered to be the point where the Amazon River begins. Keep your eyes peeled for monkeys, sloths, a variety of birds and the famous pink dolphin. Over the next five days, you'll explore the wonders of Amazon rainforest. Your expert guides will lead jungle walks, give lectures and point out unique species of bird and marine life as you explore the smaller tributaries of the river. Two days of excursions in the Pacaya–Samiria National Reserve will provide remarkable wildlife viewing opportunities, a chance to interact with the locals and the option to walk in the treetops on a canopy walkway. Meet a local shaman and discover the mystical world of spiritual healing. Go piranha fishing and explore the mangroves in a dugout canoe. Take the opportunity to go swimming. Attend a jungle cooking lesson to sample local cuisine and learn how to make traditional dishes. Spot nocturnal wildlife. Visit the Sapisapi River to look for charapas and turtles. Visit the port town of Nauta and visit a local market to gain a deeper understanding of how people live in this remote part of the world.

Day 8 Iquitos / Lima (1B)

Disembark at Iquitos, transfer to the airport for the flight back to Lima. Free afternoon to explore the capital of Peru.
