Nature surrounds on this trip—a four-day trek from high in the mountains to the lush semi-tropics of Sorata brings you into contact with the land and its people, while your time in Rurrenabaque and the nearby national park will put you close to the region’s exotic wildlife. Day 1 La Paz

Arrive at any time.

Days 2-3 Isla del Sol

Travel by bus from La Paz and continue by boat to the Isla del Sol. Optional hike to nearby ruins and interaction with the locals.

Days 4-7 Trekking the altiplano to Sorata (4B,4L,3D)

Transfer to the trailhead and embark on a 4-day trek from the high altiplano to the lush semi-tropical lowlands surrounding the town of Sorata. Follow Inca and pre-Inca pathways through the mountains, pastureland and glacial lagoons on the trek, spending nights camping under the stars. Return to La Paz by bus in the afternoon of day 7.

Days 8-10 Rurrenabaque (2B,2L,2D)

Fly to the lowlands and the edge of the Amazon basin at Rurrenabaque. 2 days of included activities in the jungle and nearby swamplands to observe wildlife, both on foot and by canoe, using a local lodge as a base.

Day 11 La Paz

Return by local flight to La Paz. Optional excursion to the Valley of the Moon or explore the city's winding streets and lively markets.

Day 12 La Paz

Depart at any time.
