The first hike of the week, climbing to the summit of Table Mountain. Wonderful views across the coast below accompany what is a challenging but rewarding walk. Our descent takes us through the low pass of Constanzia Nek before completing the scenic Chapman's Peak drive to return to Noordhoek for the evening.
Walk along Vlakkensberg Trail, following the rocky paths past beautiful heathland and old manganese mines. The steep climb up Chapman's Peak will reveal beautiful coastal views before returning to our Noordhoek accommodation.
We start the day with a walk across Long Beach, passing the iron skeleton of the SS Kakapo en route. Today we enjoy a home cooked Cape Malayan dish with a local family. This is a great way to interact with locals and find out more about this fascinating area. The hike continues over the Slangkop peak before proceeding into Simon's Town.
A special treat this morning as we visit the African penguins in their beach side sanctuary in Simon's Town. Later, we ascend the little-used paths above Simon's Town along the trail to Swartkop, enjoying some of our most spectacular views to date. The trail continues down to Smitswinkel Bay, before returning to Simon's Town for the evening.
Walk in Cape Point National Park this morning, over rocky and rugged trails with stunning views across the ocean on all sides. Return to Cape Town for the evening.
