Day 1 San José (1L,1D)
Late morning departure transfer (between 11am and 11:30am from your downtown hotel) to the San José Airport where we are flying from San José to Puerto Jimenez where your driver will be waiting to transport you to Carate, on the edge of Corcovado National Park. Arrive at the lodge for lunch and enjoy a free afternoon for an optional tour or just relax at the hotel. This area is one of the richest in flora and fauna in Costa Rica.
Day 2-3 Corcovado National Park/Carate (2B,2L,2D)
Guided tour in Corcovado National Park and guided walk on lodge property to waterfall. Options to explore the area on other hikes, go shore fishing, pan for gold or relax on the beach.
Corcovado National Park is the largest and most important park in Costa Rica. Because it is difficult to access, it is also the most pristine park in the country. With its more that 40,000 hectares it hosts lagoons, marshes, and many kilometres of the pacific coast. Here your naturalist guide will point out the many sites which concentrate the richest examples of the flora and fauna that can be observed in this park. Here you will have the opportunity to see three species of monkeys and many species of birds.
Your lodge is located on 150 acres of tropical wilderness, over half of which are primary virgin rainforest. The property is home to waterfalls and much flora and fauna. Enjoy a one hour guided hike through the property where you'll learn more about the rainforest and visit a waterfall along the way.
Day 4 San José (1B)
Fly back to San José, returning by 12 noon. Book any onward international travel after 3pm.
