Day 1 Ho Chi Minh City (D)

Arrive at anytime. Transfer to hotel and arrival dinner included.

Day 2 Mekong Delta (B,L,D)

Travel to the "rice basket" of Vietnam — the Mekong Delta. A full day of discovery, visiting small villages and local farms on the river, an introductory Vietnamese language lesson and overnight on a traditional boat

Days 3-4 Ho Chi Minh City (2B)

More exploration of the Delta, through waterways and floating markets before returning to frantic Ho Chi Minh City. On Day 4 we visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were legendary during the 1960's when they played a vital part in the Vietnam war.

Days 5-7 Hoi An (3B,1L,1D)

Flight to the World Heritage town of Hoi An. On day 6, travel by boat to Duy Hai village and visit an authentic wholesale fish market, enjoying a local breakfast. Tour around the countryside by bike, visiting a local family for some snacks before returning for our a cooking class. On Day 7, an excursion to visit the ancient Champa ruins of My Son accompanied by a local expert guide.

Days 8-9 Hue (2B,1D)

Travel via the Hai Van scenic Pass to Hue. Enjoy a Perfume River cruise on a Dragon boat and visit the Citadel, Tu Duc Tomb and savor a Royal Buffet dinner.

Day 10 Hanoi (B)

Morning flight to the Capital of Vietnam. Guided tour of Hoa Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton) and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum followed by a cyclo tour of the old quarter and a Water Puppets performance.

Day 11 Halong Bay (B,L,D)

Travel to Halong Bay for cruise and overnight on a traditional boat. With our local guide we explore caves and an island lookout. A fresh seafood lunch and dinner are included.

Days 12-13 Hanoi (2B,1L)

After our morning on the bay, travel back to Hanoi. More time to explore or shop the back streets of this intriguing city and take optional tours.
