Iquitos, Amazon Rainforest
Spend four days in the jungle, and out of your element! Located in an extensive primary rainforest reserve 80km down the Amazon River from Iquitos, Explorama Lodge’s focus is on education. Arrive in Iquitos and take a city tour. Then boat trip down the Amazon River to the Explorama Lodge. Enjoy a night walk or boat ride.
Take an early morning birding excursion along the Bushmaster Trail, home to the highest biodiversity of trees in the world. Visit a Yagua Indian village. In the afternoon, search for sloth and dolphin by boat.
Retrace Francisco de Orellano's journey to the mouth of the Napo River. Breakfast at ExplorNapo Lodge then hike the Canopy Walkway. Visit the shaman-cultivated "ReNuPeRu" Ethnobotanical Garden.
A morning river trail walk, stopping at a ribereños house and rum factory. Depart for Iquitos.
