Explore the Amazon Rainforest from the comforts of an exclusive lodge, search for wildlife by foot and canoe, explore the Tambopata National Reserve with an expert naturalist
Get back to nature in the tropical rainforest. Located on the famously diverse Tambopata River in the Peruvian Amazon, our exclusive G Lodge Amazon is both comfortable and intimate. Explore the jungle by canoe or on dry land trails, swim in the lodge's cool stream, or strap on a harness and rope up to the lodge's tree platforms for a bird's eye view of the forest—including close-ups of arboreal orchids.
Arrive to the Puerto Maldonado airport and meet your naturalist guide to journey to the jungle lodge. Spot some wildlife along the way and reach the lodge for a welcome drink and briefing. After settling into your bungalow, enjoy a short slideshow on the vegetation and wildlife before dinner and a night walk around the lodge. Teeming with giant groves of Brazil nut and dipteryx trees, watch for saddle-back tamarinds, brown capuchins, pacas, and other wildlife.
After an early breakfast, embark on a guided naturalist walk through the jungle, spotting bugs, birds, spiders and anything else along the way. Arrive to Lake Condenado and search for wildlife aboard a canoe. Return to the lodge for lunch and a free afternoon. Opt to sit on hammocks or take a dip in the cool swimming hole, visit the tree platforms for a bird's eye view of the forest or a nearby working plantation. In the evening, head out looking for caiman (alligators) by boat before dinner.
After breakfast, take a boat excursion to a spectacular hidden lake, Lake Sachavacayoc. There's a chance to spot the elusive black caiman and giant otters. Return for lunch and another free afternoon for relaxing.
After breakfast, return by canoe to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for departure.
