Exploring the Amazon Rainforest and enjoying the comforts of an exclusive lodge, spotting wildlife in the Tambopata National Reserve with a naturalist.
Get back to nature in the tropical rainforest. Located on the famously diverse Tambopata River in the Peruvian Amazon, our exclusive 'G Lodge Amazon’ is both comfortable and intimate. Explore the jungle by canoe or on dry land trails, swim in the lodge's cool stream, or strap on a harness and rope up to the lodge's tree platforms for a bird's eye view of the forest—including close-ups of arboreal orchids!
You'll be met at the Puerto Maldonado airport to begin your journey via the Tambopata River to the jungle lodge. You are accompanied by a naturalist guide who will describe and explain the evolving vegetation of the virgin rainforest. Teeming with giant groves of Brazil-nut and dipteryx trees, prepare for a delightful nature walk around the lodge and watch for saddle-back tamarinds, brown capuchins, pacas, and other wildlife. Beneath a starry sky venture into the jungle on the not-to-be-missed night walk.
After an early breakfast embark on a guided naturalist tour aboard a canoe and arrive to Lake Condenado. Rich in bird and aquatic life, view a variety of bird species like herons, egrets, and noisy donacobius. Return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon of leisure - perhaps relax and bathe in the Gallucunca, a cool clear stream by the lodge or visit the tree platforms for a bird's eye view of the forest. This evening, get a glimpse of the nocturnal life on the river as you enjoy a river cruise.
Today you're off to Lake Sachavacayoc. After breakfast take a boat excursion to a spectacular hidden lake where it is possible to spot the elusive black caiman and giant otters. Return for lunch - the afternoon is free for relaxation and swimming.
After breakfast we will walk to the protected area for Brazil Nut Tree conservation to appreciate the history and use of the product throughout history and still today. Opportunities along the way for fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities to and from, along with insightful learnings and observations from the naturalist guide. Return to the lodge for plenty of free time to relax, swim or individual exploration of the rainforest trails surrounding the lodge.
