Places Visited
Day 1 Puerto Maldonado/G Lodge Amazon (1L,1D)

Arrive to the Puerto Maldonado airport and meet your naturalist guide to journey to the jungle lodge. Spot some wildlife along the way and reach the lodge for a welcome drink and briefing. After settling into your bungalow, enjoy a short slideshow on the vegetation and wildlife before dinner and a night walk around the lodge. Teeming with giant groves of Brazil nut and dipteryx trees, watch for saddle-back tamarinds, brown capuchins, pacas, and other wildlife.

Day 2 Collpa/Macaw Clay Lick/Camping (1B,1L,1D)

After an early breakfast, embark on a guided naturalist walk through the jungle, spotting bugs, birds, spiders and anything else along the way. Arrive to Lake Condenado and search for wildlife aboard a canoe. Return to the lodge for an early lunch and to pack an overnight bag for camping. Take a canoe upriver to the National Reserve and the area of Collpa de Guacamayos, the bird and mammal clay licks, in the hopes of spotting dozens of colourful macaws and peccaries feeding. Set up camp, hike around the area and enjoy dinner before turning in early.

Day 3 Collpa/Macaw Clay Lick/Camping (1B,1L,1D)

Rise early today to get to the clay lick before the birds! Witness the sights and sounds of the macaws and parrots feeding on the minerals and salts of the clay. Explore the area with a guide who will aid and advise you as you hike some of the numerous trails.

Day 4 G Lodge Amazon (1B,1L,1D)

Return to the lodge and hike to an Oxbow lake rich in bird and aquatic life. A family of giant otters live in the vicinity of the lake and are often observed. At night you will go searching for caiman (alligators) and other nocturnal animals by canoe along the Tambopata River.

Day 5 Puerto Maldonado (1B)

After breakfast, return by canoe to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport for departure.
