Fly from Quito to Baltra Island then continue by speed boat to your hotel on the island of Isabela. Relax and enjoy your afternoon at leisure.
Visit the Sierra Negra Volcano, located 13 miles from Puerto Villamil. Hike up to this magnificent site where you will walk around the second largest volcanic crater in the world and walk on the lava fields of the volcano Chico. Return to the hotel before snorkelling in Concha Perla.
Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Centre and the 'Wall of Tears', the site of a World War II penal colony. In the afternoon, we sail to 'Islote Tintoreras', a large crevice with very clear, calm water in which whitetip sharks ('tintoreras') rest daily on the bottom.
Travel by speedboat to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. Visit the Highlands of Santa Cruz where giant tortoise live in their natural habitat. We will then return to Puerto Ayora and go to the Charles Darwin Research Station and its Interpretation Centre.
En route to the Baltra Airport we will visit 'Los Gemelos' (The Twins), collapsing craters formed from lava flows passing beneath the Earth’s surface. We then depart to the Baltra airport for our flight back to Quito.
