Day 1 Georgetown

Day 2 Georgetown (B)
Optional full-day excursion to Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls or take a city tour.
Days 3-4 Iwokrama River Lodge (2B,2L,2D)
Travel by private bus through the rainforest to the Iwokrama River Lodge. Free time to explore the trails and look for birds and wildlife. Evening excursion on the river to spot caiman and other nocturnal wildlife. On Day 4, morning boat trip on the Essequibo River to look for wildlife. Hike up Turtle Mountain for breathtaking views over the forest canopy while keeping an eye out for monkeys and birds. Visit a small Amerindian village and a butterfly farm. Free afternoon to explore the trails near the lodge.
Days 5-6 Atta Rainforest Lodge (2B,2L,2D)
Travel by 4x4 through the Iwokrama Forest keeping an eye out for the elusive jaguar. Observe many different species of birds and wildlife from the unique Canopy Walkway, a series of suspension bridges and observation decks high up in the forest.
Days 7-8 Surama Eco Lodge (2B,2L,2D)
Continue by 4x4 truck to the Amerindian community of Surama. Guided tour of the village to learn about their culture and traditions. On Day 8, climb up Surama Mountain for breakfast from a viewpoint overlooking the savannah to the mountains. Afternoon guided walk to observe the forest and bird life.
Days 9-10 Karanambu Ranch (2B,2L,2D)
Morning boat trip on the Burro Burro River to spot wildlife before transferring by 4x4 truck to Ginep Landing for the boat trip to Karanambu Ranch, a rehabilitation centre for orphaned giant river otters. Opportunities to help tend to any resident orphaned otters, and take boat excursions on the river to spot Black Caiman, giant river otters, birds and the giant Victoria Amazonia waterlillies.
Day 11 Georgetown (B,L)
Morning excursion on the savannah to spot wildlife. Fly back to Georgetown.
