Please note that visas are the responsibility of the individual traveller. The visa requirements for your trip vary depending on where you are from and where you are going. We keep the following information up to date as much as possible, but rules do change. It is important that you check for yourself with the embassy of each country. Your travel agent can assist. Please, keep in mind that all countries require passports valid for at least 6 months from the moment of departure from the country.

IRAN: all nationalities require a visa to visit Iran.

Iranian visa can be obtained for the length of the tour only + days for pre/post accommodation. If you are planning to stay in Iran for longer than 20 days, you have to notify G Adventures - our local supplier might need a copy of your flight tickets to be able to obtain authorisation number for you.

G Adventures is able to provide our passengers with a visa reference number. This reference number makes it possible for you to easily get your Iranian visa.
You can obtain this reference number through our visa support agent in Iran by completing our on line visa reference number application. The visa support link will be sent to you or your travel agent, by e-mail, at the time you confirm your booking. You must read the instructions carefully and fill out all the details along with scanned copy of passport.

HOW TO FILL IN IRANIAN AUTHORISATION NUMBER FORM ONLINE:

- Input your name the same way it is in the passport. Iranian MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is very precise about information in the application form - name should match your passport (if you have 2 or more names - all of them have to be listed under "first name"). If name on application and in passport don't match - Iranian MFA most probably will deny you reference number.
- Arrival Day: your actual date of arrival. We recommend to put it 1 day earlier, so your visa length will cover any unexpected delays.
- Departure Day: your actual departure day. We advise to add 1 more day on application, so your visa length will cover any unexpected delays.
IMPORTANT:
Please, remember to put exactly the same dates when you fill in application in Iranian embassy.
- Point of arrival - Tehran
- Passport copy should be saved in .jpeg or .pdf format only.
- Couples travelling should submit 1 passport copy for each member of the couple. Please, do not save 2 or more passports in one file

Your visa reference number will be emailed to you or your travel agent directly, approximately 1-3 weeks prior to departure. Please note that this process can not be rushed as it is being completed by the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Authorisation number is valid for 30 days since the moment of issuing. Depending on the embassy, Iranian visa is valid 2 or 3 months.

Once you have received your visa reference number you can apply for your tourist visa by going to your closest Iranian embassy (Please note that this Iranian embassy must be the same one that you indicated on your online submission). Take this reference number to the embassy along with your passport, two passport photos, the completed visa application form, a copy of your trip voucher and proof of onward travel from Iran and they will issue the visa. With the visa reference number it will take approximately 3-6 business days for the Embassy to process your visa.

Important Note: When you are completing your application, please make sure that you write the visa reference number directly onto the application. If there is no spot to do so, please write it clearly on the top of your application.

Iranian embassies require female travellers to provide visa photo with their hair covered under a scarf.

Alternatively, passengers are able to obtain their own Iranian visa (without visa reference number provided by G Adventures). Please contact Embassy directly for further information. Do not apply for your Iranian visa until your trip is guaranteed to depart, which, at the very latest will be 60 days prior to departure.

Please note that Iranian Embassies observe many statutory holidays and are often closed.
