London to Paris Family Adventure Map
Day 1 London (1D)
Arrive into the bright lights and iconic architecture of London. However you arrive into the city, by air, rail or road, you can't fail to be impressed and excited by the famous buildings and wide streets that appear just as they do on the silver screen. Because of the numerous ways to get into London there is no way for us to include the arrival transfer. But, travelling across London is easy enough, and we have provided details of how to get to your start hotel in central London in the trip details.
Once you have met your new extended family and settled into your accommodation in London, there is time to explore the city this evening. Take the family to see one of the many shows that are on all over London, visit one of the major galleries in the city (most are free!), or just enjoy a meal out in the city.
Day 2 London (1B)
A full day in London today. We have a guided orientation walk of the city first, which will take us through the maze of streets that criss-cross the city. The afternoon we move to Hyde Park, where we can row on the boating lake, and try some delicious ice cream. Then there's more time to explore the city, and possibly visit one of London's many pubs for a heart dinner.
Day 3 London (1B)
One of the UK's capital city's most famous buildings is the Tower of London, which is our first stop today. Home to the crown jewels, and once a prison that housed some of the most famous prisoners in British history, this is London's most popular attraction.
The afternoon is free, and you might want to visit more of the may attractions here. The Natural History Museum houses skeletons of dinosaurs, and if you look up to the ceiling there is a blue whale hanging from the roof. Around the corner, the Science Museum is full of hands on, interactive activities which kids will love, and further into Kensington the Victoria & Albert Museum is filled with style and designs.
This evening's dinner is taken care of by a medieval banquet, which will take us back into British history.
Day 4 London (1B)
Out of London today into the British countryside, for another slice of history. Hever Castle, in Kent, was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, one of the wives of Henry 8th. Her role in the shaping of British history is key, as her marriage to Henry resulted in the formation of the Church of England. The castle is about as much of a picture perfect example as you can find. We recommend taking time to explore the maze, hopefully you won't get too lost.
The county of Kent is known as 'the garden of England', because it is greener than the rest of the country. As we make our way back to the station for our train to London, we can stop in a country pub for some lunch.
Return to London for the night.
Day 5 Paris (1B)
Travelling across London, we arrive at the recently refurbished St Pancras station, where we board the Eurostar to Paris. The journey to Paris is a short ride, but taking you under the channel it is a one off experience. You arrive in France, and once you clear customs at the Gard du Nord, are straight into the centre of Paris. We have the rest of the day to explore, before an optional group dinner to try French cuisine, a good chance to try snails or any other French delicacy.
Day 6 Paris (1B)
We start with a half day guided city tour to some of the main sights of this most romantic of cities. The afternoon is for us to enjoy the city and maybe stop and visit some of the sights in more length. In the evening, all the family get to try their hand at a French cookery class, learning the secret of some of the world's most famous cuisine.
Day 7 Paris (1B)
A free day in Paris today to see the city in depth. This is a great opportunity to climb the Eiffel Tower and see across the city, come face to face with the gargoyles at Notre Dame cathedral or try some shopping along the Champs Elysees. In the evening, at the end of your trip, a trip along the Seine by boat means you can see the city by night. There is time for an optional meal in Paris to celebrate the end of your trip.
Day 8 Paris (1B)
The trip ends today, so there is time to say goodbye to newfound friends, before we depart from Paris. Depart at any time.
