Day 1 Lima
Arrive in Lima and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 Cuzco (B)
Orientation walk of Cuzco and introductory Spanish lesson, optional visits to museums and leisure time for shopping.
Days 3-4 Sacred Valley (2B,1L,1D)
With an expert local guide, we spend 2 full-days in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We visit local people at the Ccaccaccollo Community and Planeterra sponsored Women's Weaving Project, explore the Pisac handicraft market and have on-site lectures at the Pisac, Moray and Ollantaytambo Ruins. Also visit and learn about the pre-Incan salt pans of Las Salineras and enjoy a traditional Pachamanca-style dinner of local specialties.
Days 5-6 Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Cuzco (2B)
Scenic train to Aguas Calientes with an interprative tour and two-day entrance to the archeological site of Machu Picchu. Option for hiking, hot springs and shopping.
Day 7 Cuzco (B)
Option to horseback ride, visit archeological sites such as Sacsayhuaman, Tambo Machay and Puca Pucara, visit churches and museums, or white water rafting.
Day 8 Lima (B)
Explore the historical center of Lima and the Pueblo Libre neighborhood. Here we visit a local Bodega to learn about Pisco with a demonstration on how to make the perfect pisco sour by a master mixologist. We then enjoy a tasting of the famous drink while soaking in the local atmosphere.
Day 9 Lima-Quito (B)
Travel from Peru to Ecuador (flight not included).
Day 10 Baltra/Black Turtle Cove (B,L,D)
Fly to Baltra. Meet the guide and transfer to the boat. Excursion to Black Turtle Cove in the afternoon.
Day 11 Floreana (B,L,D)
Visit to Post Office Bay and Punta Cormorant on Floreana Island to observe wildlife. Snorkeling excursion at the Corona del Diablo.
Day 13 Santa Cruz/Quito (B)
Disembark in Puerto Ayora and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to see the giant Galapagos tortoises. Fly back to Quito.
Day 12 Española (B,L,D)
Excursions to Gardner Bay and Punta Suarez on Española Island. Guided walks to observe wildlife and opportunities for swimming and snorkelling.
Day 14 Quito (B)
