Day 1 Rio de Janeiro

Arrive at any time.

Day 2-6 Ilha Grande/Paraty

Free time for hikes and walks, optional cachaça distillery visits or a boat tours.

Day 7-9 Iguassu Falls

Skipping the long bus ride, bus to Sao Paulo and fly from there to Iguassu. Explore both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of the falls with an optional boat ride near the base of the falls, or visit the nearby bird park. Overnight bus on day 9.

Day 10-11 Estancia Stay (1B,2L,2D)

Dive into Uruguayan rural life, getting dirty at a working ranch. Head for hikes or horseback rides, and indulge in local BBQs and wine.

Day 12-14 Montevideo/Colonia (1B)

In the country's capital, visit the Carnival museum, and grab a Chivito at the Port Market. Explore the cobblestone streets of Colonia and relax at a streetside cafe.

Day 15-17 Buenos Aires

Cross the Rio Plata and explore the many attractions. Check out a football game, a tango show, or the famous city nightlife.

Day 18-19 Salta

Skip the long bus ride with an included flight. Check out the scenic Quebrada de las Conchas to Cafayate, the High Mountain Arqueological museum, and enjoy local cuisine.

Day 20-21 San Pedro de Atacama

Optional excursions to nearby ruins, mountain biking, or a visit to the Valley of the Moon.

Day 22-24 Salt Flats/Uyuni (2B,3L,2D)

Ascend by bus into the mountains and cross into Bolivia. Three day 4x4 excursion to the Salar de Uyuni and surrounding desert altiplano with spectacular scenery.

Day 25-29 Potosí/Sucre

Take optional and excursion to nearby dinosaur tracks, explore the cities, head hiking or mountain biking, check out a working silver mine. Overnight bus to La Paz on day 29.

Day 30-34 La Paz/Puno/Lake Titicaca

Optional visit to Valley of the Moon or explore winding streets and lively markets of La Paz. Oxygen bar anyone? Visit the floating Islands of Uros and take a guided tour of Lake Titicaca with a homestay in a small village.

Day 35-43 Cuzco/Ollantaytambo/Inca Trail (3B,3L,3D)

Free time to explore Cuzco or take an optional city tour, head out whitewater rafting, horseback riding or mountain biking. Learn about the Sacred Valley en route to Ollantaytambo. Take in Inca culture, history, and great views on a 4-day guided Inca Trail hike with visit to Machu Picchu. Travel by overnight bus to Arequipa on day 43.

Day 44-47 Arequipa/Colca Canyon

Optional visit of the Catalina Convent, or head to a local hot springs. Spot condors on a guided tour to Colca Canyon. Overnight bus to Nazca on day 47.

Day 48-49 Nazca/Paracas (1D)

Optional sandboarding and flight over the Nazca Lines. Stop at a winery en route at the Oasis of Huacachina. Indulge in a traditional Pachamanca meal.

Day 50 Lima

Optional visit to Ballestas Islands before travelling to Lima for a final night - try some pisco sours and ceviche.

Day 51 Lima

Depart at any time.
