Itinerary Notes

Please note that this tour begins very early on Day 1.

Day 1 Alice Springs/Uluru (1L,1D)

Meet at 5:45am and travel to the Red Centre. Visit the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, and do the informative Mala Walk around part of Uluru's base, then catch the sunset over Uluru. Camp under the stars—the only way to really experience the Outback.

Day 2 Kata Tjuta/Kings Creek Station (1B,1L,1D)

Watch the sunrise over Uluru, then enjoy a walk through the Valley of the Winds in Kata Tjuta. Continue on to Kings Creek Station for another night around the campfire.

Day 3 Kings Canyon/Alice Springs (1B,1L)

Hike the awe-inspiring Kings Canyon, then stop by a camel farm for an optional camel ride en route back to Alice Springs.

Day 4 The Ghan Train

Ride the rails on the famous Ghan Train—named for Afghan cameleers. Glide through the remote Outback en route to the top end of Australia.

Day 5 Darwin

Stop at Katherine Gorge, and opt for a flat-bottomed boat trip or a walk before reaching Darwin.

Day 6 Darwin/Kakadu National Park (1L,1D)

Spot crocs on a boat cruise, then visit an Aboriginal crafts centre, and continue to Kakadu NP.

Day 7 Kakadu/Litchfield National Park (1B,1L,1D)

Explore the waterfalls, swimming holes and trails of Kakadu NP—a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 8 Litchfield/Darwin (1B,1L)

Tour the streams, rock formations and the impressive magnetic termite mounds of Litchfield NP. Tour ends in Darwin upon arrival in the evening; book onward travel for 9pm or later.

Day 6 Darwin/Litchfield National Park (1L,1D)

Set off for Litchfield NP, visit some waterfalls and cool off with a swim. Visit the Buley Rockhole, and see the spectacular giant termite mounds before boarding a croc-spotting cruise.

Day 7 Kakadu National Park (1B,1L,1D)

Cross into Kakadu NP and visit an Aboriginal cultural centre, learn about rock art and hike down to a breath-taking gorge with various pools.

Day 8 Kakadu/Darwin (1B,1L,1D)

Stop by Gunlom Falls for a walk and a swim before visiting the beautiful Ikoymarrwa, a site accessible only with a special permit. Tour ends in Darwin upon arrival in the evening; please book departure flights after 9pm.
