If you’re crunched for time when it comes to a family holiday, make the most of it by taking your brood to Africa. Although there’ll be plenty of bird watching and game spotting, we put a focus on local culture immersion that you won’t get from similar trips. Your family will stay with the San Bushmen in the Kalahari Desert, and overnight on the Okavango Delta. Give your kids memories for a lifetime.

Itinerary Notes

This trip is designed for parents and children to enjoy together. You will be travelling as part of a group of families with other children. The itinerary has been designed with the needs of the whole family in mind. We have given this trip a minimum age for this trip to allow you to be sure that you have the right trip for you and your family. Minimum age of 10 years for this trip. Please see the activities for any specific minimum age requirements.

Day 1 Livingstone

Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Livingstone (1B)

The journey begins at Victoria Falls, possibly the world's most famous cateract. Dropping over 100 m (328 ft) in height, the Falls are an impressive sight. This morning, explore the falls on the Zambian side. In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Zambezi, keeping an eye out for the wildlife along the river.

Day 3 Kasane (1B)

Crossing into Botswana, travel to the Chobe National Park. Enjoy afternoon game viewing in open vehicles along marshlands and watering holes in search of elephants, lions, hippos and giraffes, to name a few.

Day 4 Nata (1B)

After a free morning, transfer to Nata village. The evening is free to enjoy optional activities at the accommodation.

Day 5 Maun (1B)

Depart this morning for Maun. Enjoy an afternoon guided bird watching walk and embark on a sunset boat cruise, keeping an eye out for the wildlife. In the evening watch traditional dances that will help to explain more about local culture.

Day 6 Thamalakane (1B, 1L)

A full day mokoro journey into the Okavango Delta, where the polers will help you to keep an eye out for all species of animals that live here. Transfer to Thamalakane for the night.

Day 7 Ghanzi (1B)

A morning cruise on the Okavango Delta. Visit the Kalahari Desert and meet the local San Bushmen. Optional walk to learn survival skills by the locals.

Day 8 Windhoek (1B)

Leaving the Kalahari, it's a full day driving to get back to Windhoek.
