Day 1 Delhi
Arrive any time.
Day 2 Delhi
Tour Old and New Delhi via the new metro in the morning with free time in the afternoon to explore.
Days 3-4 Amritsar
Visit Golden Temple and observe the formal India/Pakistan Wagah border ceremony in the evening.
Days 5-6 Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj
Explore the famous seat of the Tibeten government in exile and current home to the Dalai Lama. Tour beautiful Norbulingka set amidst beautiful gardens.
Days 7-8 Shimla
Travel on the Kalka-Shimla Toy Train before viewing the main sights of Shimla on an orientation walk. Opt to walk to one of several hills with temples on top or visit the excellent State Museum. Beware of the thieving monkeys roaming around town!
Days 9-11 Rishikesh/Haridwar
Visit the holy city of Rishikesh known for yoga and ashrams and Hardiwar, known to be at one of the sites where the elixir of immortality spilled from the pitcher, according to Hindu mythology.
Day 12 Agra
Travel to the City of the Taj—Agra
Day 13 Delhi
Visit Taj Mahal. Optional visit to the Fort. Train to Delhi
