After breakfast at a local non-profit's training restaurant, transfer to Halong Bay. Spend a night on a traditional junk boat surrounded by turquoise waters, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the calm waters.
After a morning on the bay we transfer back to Hanoi to catch our flight to Hue. On Day 4, we visit the ancient walled Citadel containing the former Imperial Palace. We then take a trip into the surrounding countryside to see the final resting place of former emperors, visiting one of the most impressive royal tombs.
Scenic drive to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town and take a cooking lesson at a local culinary school. Option to visit local tailors, shop or visit My Son ruins.
A short flight brings us to Nha Trang. We take a sunset cyclo trip through this idyllic seaside town fringed by golden sands and brilliant blue waters. On Day 9 we cruise the South China Sea on a converted fishing boat visiting islands and enjoying a fresh seafood lunch.
Flight to Ho Chi Minh CIty, Vietnam’s biggest city, with the option to take a cyclo tour and visit markets and shops.
Travel to where the mighty Mekong River splits into a labyrinth of channels and islands and the only transportation is by boat. Here we explore small villages and farms and overnight at a local homestay.
We head back to Ho Chi Minh City for your final chance for sightseeing and shopping before we head out to reminisce about our journey through Vietnam and savour some excellent cuisine.
