From the cathedrals of Russia to the imperial palaces of Beijing, you'll encounter the best of St Petersburg and Moscow before boarding the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway en route to Lake Baikal. Experience secluded Mongolia's colourful culture and spend a night in a ger before continuing on to the palaces of Beijing. An experienced CEO will lead the way and take care of the details so you’re free to enjoy one of the world's greatest train rides. Offering a balance of guided excursions and free time, this adventure is proof that getting there is half the fun.

Day 1 St Petersburg

Arrive at any time.

Day 2 St Petersburg (1B)

Optional visit to the Hermitage or St Isaak's Cathedral, or take a boat trip around the canals. Overnight train to Moscow.

Day 3-4 Moscow

Free time to explore Moscow's numerous museums and galleries, the Kremlin and Lenin's Mausoleum.

Day 5-7 Russia

Riding one of the world's most famous rail routes, journey 72 hours across the Ural Mountains and through the wilds of the Siberian taiga. Share laughs and drinks with your fellow passengers, Russians and foreigners alike.

Day 8 Listvyanka/Lake Baikal (1D)

Enjoy a homestay in the village of Listvyanka, on the shore of Lake Baikal. Opt to try a banya (Russian sauna), go for a boat trip on the lake or go for an invigorating swim.

Day 9-10 Trans-Mongolian Railway (1B)

Guided tour of Irkutsk before two nights on the train to Ulaanbaatar. Cross the border to Mongolia. Watch the scenery change and sample the different local foods along the way; life by rail can be quite interesting!

Day 11-13 Ulaanbaatar (2B,1L,1D)

Explore Mongolia's capital and stay one night in a traditional ger camp.

Day 14 Trans-Mongolian Railway (1B)

Relax on the final train journey—36 hours through Inner Mongolia to Beijing with a border crossing into China.

Day 15-16 Beijing

Explore the buzzing capital of China and opt to visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
