Beloved by mountaineers and nature lovers alike, the Dolomites sit perched atop northern Italy like a rocky crown. This exhilarating trip through the mountains features day treks through some of Italy’s most unbelievable scenery, with plenty of visits to small villages along the way to soak up the unique local Ladin culture and cuisine. Nights are spent in mountain refuges, where your hosts will ply you with hearty home-cooked meals. Eat up; you won’t find tastier mountain-trekking food anywhere else.

Itinerary Notes

Please note that for departures during June 2013 there may be variations on this itinerary, depending on season & weather conditions. There have been unseasonably heavy snows in the Dolomites this month, so there will likely be changes to this itinerary. Our expert CEOs will always put your safety first and in extreme cases of heavy rain, storms or snow, they may cancel a days activity at their discretion. An alternative will be offered where possible to do so.

Day 1 Calalzo (1D)

Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Cortina (1B,1D)

Transfer to Cortina, where we begin our hiking with a short walk across the valley with the Monte Cristallo behind.

Day 3 Col de Lana (1B,1D)

Cross high ground hiking from Cortina to the Col de Lana region, passing evidence of World War I trenches.

Day 4 Col de Lana/Passo di Fedaia (1B,1D)

Time to stretch those legs again with another superb Dolomites hike, through Alpine meadows up to the mountains.

Day 5 Via del Pan/Canazei (1B)

Ascend the legendary Via del Pan and walk towards Canazei, with views out to the Marmolada, the highest peak in the Dolomites.

Day 6 Canazei (1B)

Free day to explore. There's a variety of options available from Canazei today, from visiting a spa to the local skating rink. Hire a bike or try climbing around the valley.

Day 7 Sasso Lungo massif/Val Gardena (1B,1D)

Hike round the impressive Sasso Lungo rock massif and views out across the Fassa Dolomites.

Day 8 Val Gardena (1B,1D)

Head into Ladin territory climbing up the slopes of Val Gardena, home to the Sella Ronda ski circuit.

Day 9 Bolzano (1B)

A short day's walking today, heading down through the valley to the trailhead before transferring to Bolzano.

Day 10 Bolzano (1B)

Departure day, please do not book any ongoing travel plans before 12pm.
