Getting to know the locals, volunteering at a daycare centre in a Rio de Janeiro favela (shanty town).
If you're looking for a life-changing experience then volunteering in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro while enjoying the sites and sounds of Brazil is right for you. Spend the weekdays assisting in a community-run daycare that provides support to over 50 children, and spend your weekends touring Rio and the mighty Iguassu Falls.

Volunteer at a community-run day care centre in one of Brazil's largest favelas, where over 50 children are provided with a loving atmosphere to learn and grow, complete with games and educational activities, nutritious meals and health care. Return to the hotel in Copacabana for the weekend in the afternoon of Day 6, returning to the favela on Day 9. Portuguese lessons are included on Saturday to help better connect with project staff and children and locals during your stay (2 hrs). Optional activities are available in Rio on the weekend.
One last day of volunteering in the favela before transferring to a hotel for the night.
